Ishpremalaya: Palliative Care Hospice



















Sisters of the Cross are working towards establishing Ishpremalaya, a Palliative Care Hospice for terminally ill cancer patients.

With escalating number of cancer patients among the poor and economically backward people our society, we the Sisters of the Cross perceive the need of Palliative care as our urgent concern. The treatment rendered to the patients will be through medical expertise and compassion.

Aim of the Project: To establish a palliative care Hospice for terminally ill Cancer Patients

Location: This palliative Care Hospice will be located at Nirukh village which is in the Sawantwadi Taluka of Sindudurg District, Maharashtra. It is two and half kms. away from Sawantwadi town. The place will be easily accessible to the patients and people of Maharashtra, Goa and other neighboring States. 

Objectives:

  • To provide care and support to the patients 
  • To create a conducive environment for them. 
  • To relieve them from physical pain and mental trauma 
  • To offer counseling to patients and relatives. 
  • To adopt a holistic approach in Palliative Care 
  • To uphold their right to live 
  • To provide diversional therapy to soothe their minds and calm their anxieties
  • To prepare the patients to accept their last journey of life with serenity
