Final Professions

4th June 2013 marked an auspicious day in the life of the Province. Three Sisters who had already committed their lives to God and humanity, made a lifetime choice to carry on this commitment with its challenges to live single mindedly for God alone and to serve Him in the world as Sisters of the Cross by the three vows of Obedience, Poverty and Chastity.

The ceremony was held at St. Anthony’s Church in Siolim, Goa, with the Archbishop of Goa celebrating theEucharist. It was followed by a fellowship meal shared with the Sisters, family members and friends which was hosted by the Holy Cross Convent, Siolim, Goa.

First Professions

On 1st June 2013, seven young women committed their lives to the Lord and in the service of their fellow human beings. They had spent two years growing in their personal God experience and studying the life and spirit of our Founders for a better integration into the Charism of the Congregation. Their being together in a multicultural context contributed tremendously towards broadening their outlook to embrace all irrespective of class, religion, region or social background.

A very meaningful ceremony comprising the Eucharistic celebration, a public expression of their commitment and a festive meal together marked the occasion. The celebration was held at the Holy Cross Novitiate, Pune

School results at the SSC

This year, 2013, as in the previous years, our SSC results were excellent. While we laud the success of the students we also credit the laurels largely to the diligent, interested and deeply committed staff of our schools. We are well aware that good education is not merely achieving cent percent results and carving a prosperous career for our future generations of youth. The focus of our endeavours is also the cultivation and imbibing of good human values like peace, justice, honesty, integrity of nature, gender sensitivity, communal harmony, mutual respect and equality of opportunity. The co-operation and supportive appreciation of the parent body goes a long way in contributing to the fulfillment of these efforts of ours.

Annual Day celebrations

The Annual day celebrations are a much looked-forward-to event in every school as they provide an opportunity for the students to showcase their many talents. Parents and well wishers get a ‘close up’ of the diverse ways education is interpreted in the institutions. A theme culled from burning issues of the times gives a cohesion and relevance to the performances which are highly creative and very inspirational. It is a policy in our schools to ensure maximum participation of the children in these celebrations. The many co-curricular activities that span the academic year provide the much needed platform for every child to display and even discover her/his hidden strengths and gifts of mind and hand.
